RED: Relates to the physical body. The densest colour, it creates the most friction. Friction attracts or repels; money worries or obsessions; anger or unforgiveness; anxiety or nervousness. Red is used to indicate courage or danger. Sexuality, success, aggression, animal passion, vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, malice and wrath.
ORANGE: Relates to reproductive organs and emotions. The energizing colour, it creates drive and ambition. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success. Symbolic of strength and endurance. Creative, intelligent, detail oriented, perfectionist.
YELLOW: Relates to the spleen and life energy. It is the colour of awakening, inspiration, creative, playful, optimistic, easy-going. Produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy. It is an unstable and spontaneous colour. Hope, hazards, courage, awareness, renewal.
GREY: This is the colour of abundance, both spiritual and physical. Grey also is closely associated with fasting and prayer. Native Americans associate grey with friendship. Uncommitted, uncertain.
GREEN: A very comfortable, healthy colour of nature. Growth and balance, and most of all, something that leads to change. Jealousy, resentment, feeling like a victim of the world; blaming self or others; insecurity and low self-esteem; lack of understanding personal responsibility. Green, as opposed to red, means safety. Adaptability, balance, reconciliation.
BLUE: Cool, calm, and collected. Caring, loving, love to help others, sensitive. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Religion, art, culture, philosophy, attitude to life itself, trust, wisdom. The colour of inspiration and sincerity. Blue is a masculine colour; according to studies, it is highly accepted among males. High ideals, confidence and loyalty.
PURPLE: The most sensitive of the colours and connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. Combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. It is also feminine; evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial. Ceremony, mysterious, transformation, wisdom, cruelty, arrogance, mourning, femininity and elegance.
BLACK/WHITE: Draws or pulls energy to it and in so doing, transforms it. It captures light and consumes it. Usually indicates long-term unforgiveness (toward others or another). It is associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. White alone can indicate a proud, rigid, judgmental immaturity - a ‘should be’, controlling attitude or can indicate the gift of prophesy.
